Kay Bojesen? Probably the most prolific and most endeared wood artisan in Denmark in the second half of the 19th century, during which for a lifetime created wooden figurines, that are still relevant and valued today. He created countless works of art that to this day still reveal love and a good portion of humor – not only were his own childhood memories a source of inspiration for his authentic wooden pieces, which he carried over into his works with a lot of creativity and boldness, but he also created imaginative pieces in designs based on a child´s own imagination where the shapes were simple and inspirational.
He is considered one of the great pioneers responsible for establishing the famous Scandinavian designs while at the same time he also added a touch of humor and functionality. – Ultimately the soldier, flag bearer, and Co. should inspire play and interaction and they also remind us what imagination in today´s hectic times really means – namely love, creativity, and boundless opportunities to see the world anew each and every day.
